My games tend to focus on mystery and suspense, and tell interesting stories. Tactics are also important. Player-characters are destined for greatness, and I mirror back player ideas I think are interesting into the game. I'm in charge, and will invoke “rule zero” (bending the rules) if it'll make the story more interesting.
